The job

What this site had to do

Cabin turnover is a trust business. An owner in another state is handing you keys to a property they cannot see, on a changeover day with guests arriving at four. Before they do that, they want to know who they are dealing with.

So the whole site is built around being checkable. It is the one in this portfolio that has since moved onto its own domain — you can open hochatownpremiercleaning.com yourself.

What the site does for them

  • Puts a source line under every figure, so a claim can be traced instead of taken on faith
  • Answers the awkward question about reviews first, in plain words, instead of hiding it
  • Names the cabins it looks after, which is the thing an owner actually recognizes
  • Keeps the phone one tap away on every page, and pinned to the bottom on a phone

The work it lists

Cabin turnover cleaning between guests · Guest amenity bundles — kitchen, bathroom and coffee · Occasion and amenity styling (birthday setups, romantic turndowns, waffle bar) · Maintenance and repairs · Exterior cleaning · Furniture assembly and small repairs · Lawn and light property care between stays · Holiday decorating for cabins, marked "Seasonal · new"

Design decisions

The choices I made for this one

Every site I build gets decided rather than assembled. These are the calls that make this one Hochatown Premier Cleaning's site and nobody else's.

Every number carries its source

The stat band under the hero puts a small grey source line beneath each figure — who said it, and where you could go and check. Three of the five read "Per owner". A reader can tell at a glance which claims are the business talking about itself and which came from somewhere else.

The awkward question goes first

A newer business gets asked about reviews, and the tempting move is to bury it. Here it is the first item in the FAQ on two separate pages, answered plainly, and it points the reader at the places they can go look for themselves — rather than asserting a score of its own.

Motion can never blank the page

The hidden start state for every reveal sits behind a .js class the script adds on load, so with JavaScript off the content simply renders. A three-second timer then force-shows every reveal and forces the count-up stat to its final value. A reduced-motion block stops the hero pan and the SVG arc draw and strips the transitions off the image zooms.

Calling is one tap from anywhere

The number is a tel: link in the header, the hero, every closing CTA and the footer — six times on index and contact, four on the other three pages. Below 820px a fixed bar pins it to the bottom of the screen. The contact form is a plain mailto, so there is no account to make and no booking system to break.
